March 11th - Paulette Rinck - South County Animal Shelter - Male Dane needs to be rescued - Northern California Rescue has not gotten a hold of us, has not even called us back. We emailed all levels and names of just about every organization listed that rescues Danes in Northern California and nobody even had the courtesy to call us back. We need you to take him.
[Here are the emails that followed where Gentle Giants responded and then arranged to have him picked up since, as usual, no other 'Rescue' even responded]
Tracy-
After many sent e-mails and messages being left.....I'm contacting you to come rescue the guy in the shelter. I kind of disappointed that no one ever contacted me or the shelter here in northern ca. about this lovely boy. He has been christened "Marmaduke" by the one of the supervisors, Rene.
Please give us a call about when you can make arrangements to pick him up.
Per state law, he will need to be neutered before he leaves here so you will have to give us a week's lead time so that the vet can perform surgery. As we are under funded right now, due to budget cuts, the vet is only here Tuesdays and Thursdays currently.
Thanks for being there,
Paulette Rinck
for South County Animal Shelter
San Martin, CA.
[Below is the response to the above correspondence that Tracy Ward wrote]
Hi Paulette,
I will try to call you today to work out the details, but today is one of my busiest adoption days, so if I don't get to talk to you today, we will definitely connect on Monday.
I tried to tell you this when I talked to you before, I am the only one who will take all the Danes, regardless of where they are located.
I didn't say much about it on our phone call because I did not want to come across as being negative or pushy, so I just let you know that if it didn't work out with the other rescues, as it pretty much always does not work out for them to take any of these dogs in need, then you could call me, and of course, I immediately would take him.
Either there is always an 'excuse' to not take them, or as in your case, these other so called 'rescues' just don't make any contact or won't even call you back at all, even when you bombard them with efforts to reach them as you have done.
Who knows why, I am sorry you had to waste your valuable time and I am sorry he had to spend so much time - I think it has been at least a month - there in a cage for no reason when I could have taken him here right from the start, and just so you were forced to see this scenario of them not calling you back EVER play itself out - you think they would have at least returned the calls of a shelter even to just be courteous enough to tell you they didn't want to take him!
Don't worry about it, in the future you will no longer have to play the game, just call me and we will always take them ALL.
It is our charity and our Life's work.
If you let us know on the day they come in, we will have someone there on the day they are available to take every single one of the breeds that we rescue that may be in your shelter.
There will be no wait, and they will be safe, and you will have your valuable time and cage space to rescue others.
And I will always thank you for the opportunity to rescue my breeds and ensure that they are safe for life,
Sincerely,
Tracy Ward

Above is a photo of the Mobile Rescue Vehicle for the Northern California shelters that we work with. They love to save lives and they work with Rescues like ours. They call us whenever our many breed of dogs that we rescue become available. Then, our drivers meet them promptly and make sure to save the life of every dog of the breeds that we rescue! __________________________
This is a wonderful group of shelters who try to save every life and we LOVE the people we work with there! |
