Yesterday I was shopping at Stater Bros and I was running low on dog food.  I usually only feed my 3 standard poodles Nutro Lamb & Rice, but of course, they don’t have that at Stater’s.  I was reading labels of all the foods and continually rejecting them because they’re just CORN, CORN and more CORN. 

Then I saw two bags of Gentle Giants food.  I was pleasantly surprised by the ingredients and the price was the same as all the junk food.  I bought a bag and took it home.  When I brought it in the kitchen, the dogs were all over it … I could barely pull the string off!  And the string actually worked! 

My baby girl, Alexandra, (who will be two at the end of this month), stuck her head in the bag and started eating it like it was a giant bag of treats.  The other two crowded around anxiously trying to get a bite or two.  I am trying to follow the ratio of old to new food, but they pick out the Nutro and put it on the floor next to their dishes and only eat your food. 

I am going back to Stater Bros today to buy the other bag and hope it is still there.  I want to encourage the manager to order more! 

I have enclosed a recent picture of “the kids” (and no, they don’t wear those silly bandanas all the time.)  My three are all “rescues” from Craig’s List, the Penny Saver and Alexandra was a “gift” from a co-worker who bought her from a backyard breeder because she wanted a dog just like mine  (I bring them to work sometimes)  and then couldn’t deal with a Standard Poodle puppy.  They were all ten months old when I got them.  That seems to be a troublesome age for poodle puppies.
